Terms of Service
Last Updated: March 14, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using PermitSentry AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are accepting on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and [Company Name] ("PermitSentry", "we", "us", or "our").
2. Description of Service
- PermitSentry AI provides AI-assisted permit research, compliance checklists, deadline tracking, renewal reminders, and form auto-fill tools for construction, business, and regulatory permits across the United States.
- The Service uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) to analyze permit requirements and generate recommendations.
- Features and availability may change over time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes.
3. Important Disclaimer: Not Legal Advice
Please read this section carefully. It affects your rights.
- PermitSentry is an informational tool ONLY.
- NOTHING on PermitSentry constitutes legal advice, engineering advice, architectural advice, or professional consulting of any kind.
- NO attorney-client, engineer-client, or consultant-client relationship is created by your use of the Service.
- AI-generated permit guidance may be INCOMPLETE, INACCURATE, OUTDATED, or not applicable to your specific jurisdiction, project type, or circumstances.
- You MUST verify all permit requirements directly with the relevant local, state, or federal authority before taking action.
- You MUST consult a licensed attorney, architect, engineer, or permit expediter for project-specific guidance.
- PermitSentry IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for permit denials, project delays, fines, penalties, stop-work orders, or any other adverse outcome resulting from reliance on information provided by the Service.
- You assume full responsibility for independently verifying all information before relying on it for any business, construction, or regulatory decision.
4. Account Registration and Security
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at support@permitsentry.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.
5. Subscription, Billing, and Payment
- PermitSentry offers subscription plans as described on the Pricing page (currently Starter at $49/mo, Pro at $149/mo, and Enterprise at $499/mo).
- All subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) and auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled.
- Payment is processed securely through Stripe. You authorize recurring charges to your payment method on file.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through Account Settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days advance written notice. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle after the notice period.
- If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. If payment remains unsuccessful after 7 days, your access may be suspended until payment is resolved.
- Annual subscriptions receive a 20% discount. Refunds for annual plans follow the same no-prorated-refund policy.
6. License Grant
- Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes.
- This license does not include the right to sublicense, resell, redistribute, or white-label the Service or any part of it without our prior written agreement.
- You may not use the Service to develop or offer a competing product or service.
7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract the source code of the Service or its AI models.
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service using automated means.
- Share, sell, or transfer your account credentials to another person or entity.
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any material intended to compromise the security or integrity of the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure, servers, or networks.
- Use the Service to build, train, or improve a competing AI product or service.
- Misrepresent AI-generated outputs as professional legal, engineering, or architectural advice to third parties.
- Use the Service in a manner that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls.
- Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited communications, or for any purpose unrelated to permit compliance.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy.
8. AI Features: Specific Terms
- AI outputs are generated by machine learning models and are probabilistic in nature. They are not deterministic, guaranteed, or exhaustive.
- Outputs may contain errors, omissions, hallucinations, or outdated information. AI technology has inherent limitations.
- You are solely responsible for independently verifying ALL AI-generated content before relying on it for any decision, filing, or submission.
- You must apply human judgment and, where appropriate, professional review before taking action based on AI outputs.
- We do NOT warrant that AI outputs are accurate, complete, current, legally compliant, or fit for any particular purpose.
- We reserve the right to modify, update, retrain, or discontinue AI features at any time without prior notice.
- We do NOT use your individual project data to train or fine-tune AI models without your explicit written consent. AI processing occurs in real time via the Anthropic Claude API under our enterprise agreement.
- Regulatory requirements change frequently. AI outputs reflect information available at the time of generation and may not reflect recent changes in law, regulation, or local policy.
- You acknowledge that AI-generated permit checklists and recommendations are a starting point for your own research, NOT a substitute for authoritative guidance from the relevant permitting authority.
9. Your Data
- You retain all ownership rights to data you submit to the Service ("Your Data"), including business information, project details, and permit documents.
- You grant PermitSentry a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display Your Data solely to provide the Service to you.
- We do not claim any ownership interest in Your Data.
- Upon account termination, you have 30 days to export Your Data via the export feature in Account Settings. After 30 days, Your Data will be permanently deleted from our systems (except as required by law, per our data retention policy).
- See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling, retention, and security.
10. Intellectual Property
- PermitSentry and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including all software, AI models, algorithms, user interface designs, documentation, and associated intellectual property.

You may opt out of the arbitration and class action waiver provisions by sending written notice to legal@permitsentry.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
